Sunday Wrap Day Late Long Weekend Here It Is!

24 05 2011

Heyyyyyyyy Crosspoint!! It didn’t feel like the long weekend in May, but according to the calendar it was. We had a great long weekend Sunday here at CP. Here is the ‘day late even pastors need a day off’ Sunday wrap:

– It was week 2 of our ‘BAMBOOZLED’ series! Which means we were in chapter 2 of the book of Galatians. Pastor Conard did an awesome job of helping us to understand again what it means to be crucified to our old selves so that we can be truly free in Jesus – free in grace!

– We had people who decided to start a brand new life with Jesus on Sunday!! Whooo!! That never gets old. That is why we do what we do. Very exciting!! I had the privilege of talking to one of the people who prayed to recieve Jesus after the second service. It was so exciting to see on her face and in her eyes that she knew exactly what she was doing and she was pumped! I gave her one of our new believer’s packets and showed her the resources inside. Wow. It was very cool!!

– Great long weekend holiday crowd! Not just in numbers, but in spirit and enthusiasm. People were really tracking well, singing loud and responding to everything!

– Loved the worship set! I know I say that every Sunday, but we are seriously blessed with the music in this church. “Holding Nothing Back” is one of my faves and I think it captures the Crosspoint story well.

– Loved seeing a row of teenage boys sitting up front in one of the services!!!

Sunday Wrap!

16 05 2011

Crosspoint!! Happy Monday ๐Ÿ™‚ What rain? Rain? I don’t see any rain. Seriously though, it’s been raining for weeks and we are all getting just a wee bit tired of it. Hopefully this little post will brighten your day.

– Yesterday was week 1 of our new series in Galatians, “BAMBOOZLED”! It really was a stellar day from start to finish! Thanks for all the positive comments we’ve been getting. Bestchurchanywhere!!

Galatians 1:6,7. There is only one way to follow the Way and Jesus is the Way! Don’t be fooled by some poser or quack or bamboozler that tries to lead you away from grace!! God won’t give you a green light on something that is wrong for the rest of us! He won’t rewrite the 10 Commandments just for you!!

– Great to have Pastor Jamie’s wife Catherine and their boys Noah and Aaron with us yesterday!!

– Loved hearing you sing yesterday! Tons of energy in worship yesterday!

– We had a baby dedication in the second service, Clara Evelyn Brewer. Love church growth and all the new babies God is blessing us with. ๐Ÿ™‚

Huge crowd yesterday. One of our largest non-holiday attendances. Awesome!

“Today Is The Day” Lincoln Brewster, Today Is The Day
“Blessed Be Your Name” Tree63, The Answer To The Question

Mother’s Day Sunday Wrappapalooza!

9 05 2011

Hey Church! I hope your week has gotten off to a great start! We had another awesome day here yesterday. Here is the look back!

Mommmmmmmms! Yesterday was all about Moms. Well, actually, it was all about Jesus, but we did our best to let the Crosspoint Moms know how much we love and appreciate them! Yay Moms!

Kathy Shanks, our special speaker for Mother’s Day totally, totally rocked it. Seriously. Way to go Kathy! Thanks for bringing a perfect and timely message for our church! Many people came forward for prayer and many commented on how Kathy’s words helped them. For those who weren’t here, this is Kathy’s home church and she is the Children’s Pastor at Moncton Wesleyan Church.

Worship was AMAZING!!!!! Woooooooo! Honestly. Alvin Brewer on lead guitar, Nancy Pickell on piano, and the rest of the Crosspoint band – it was one of our best for sure! “All the Way My Saviour Leads Me” is one of my all time faves.

Great crowd! We didn’t hit the big # but it was definitely a good crowd. I think having Mother’s Day that close to Easter was just a little too much church for those who only go 3 times a year. We’ll change that for next year and separate the two days a little better. You’re welcome.

– Lots going on. Check our vimeo site for the video announcements and keep up with all the great stuff happening at Crosspoint!

– Our teens were just back from “Rally in the Valley”, our annual district youth rally, and man were they PUMPED!! Our very own Mark Brewer was the speaker at the rally and from all reports it was insanely crazy good. Saturday night they spontaneously baptized 48 teens!! Wooooooooo. 5 of those were from Crosspoint! ๐Ÿ™‚ Awesome stuff for sure.

Don’t forget, our new series on Galatians, “BAMBOOZLED” starts this Sunday. Great opportunity to invite someone to church. It’s going to be a lot of fun.

Sunday Set List/Artist/Album
“Your Grace Is Enough” Matt Maher, Empty And Beautiful
“Before The Throne” Shane & Shane, UNending Worship
“Praise The Father, Praise The Son” Chris Tomlin, Hello Love
“All The Way My Savior Leads Me” Chris Tomlin, Hello Love

Sunday Wrap!

18 04 2011

Good morning Crosspoint!! This day reminds me of the series we are in, ‘Walking Dead’. It started pretty bleak, snowing, dark, overcast and now the sun is out and the skies are blue and it is warming up! Just like people walking out of the darkness and into the light. God is good.

A personal note before I give you the wrap. This series has been pretty intense by design. We decided to do 4 weeks in a row that are focused on helping people cross over from death to life. After all, it’s Easter and that is the message of the Cross. I carry the spiritual responsibility for our church and there is nothing I want more than to see changed lives for Jesus. There are many people in our church that God has given me a ‘burden’ for. (Pardon the verbage, it’s the only way I know how to say it!) All I can do is bring the message God has laid on my heart and leave the rest up to Him. Please join with me in praying for those who need to dive in this Easter!

– It was week 3 of our ‘Walking Dead’ series! Great crowd and lots of new faces. People ask me all the time, “What if everyone showed up on the same Sunday?” Well, I’d probably have a heart attack, Mark would revive me with coffee, and then we would party! We would easily be full all three services if everyone showed up.

– We talked about Peter’s denial, Luke 22. Bad things happen when you follow Jesus from a distance. Give God a big fat YES to anything he wants to do in your life!

– We shared communion together!! LOVE communion. Loved the song that Leah led us in during communion. Awesome. So good to reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice for our sin. Thankful. Blessed.

– We announced the bighonkinggiantEasteroffering that we need. Pray hard.

– We showed a baptism video from last summer in the Nashwaak. Several people signed up for Baptism on Easter Sunday!! Wooooo!! Can’t wait! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hat Trick Sunday Wrap!

28 03 2011

Yesterday was an historic day for our church. It was the first Sunday that we have ever had three morning services! In classic Canadian style we called it ‘Hat Trick’ Sunday and gave away toques. It was an awesome day. Brew up a fresh k-cup and take a few minutes to look back with us.

Huge thanks to everyone who went way over and way beyond to make it happen! You know who you are. People who set their alarm clocks for some ridiculous hour and showed up early and eager to serve. Thank you!

– Some volunteers were here from 7 a.m. till 1 p.m.

– People started showing up at 8:00 for the free toques we were giving away! By 8:15 the lobby was full and we were blown away. We really had no idea that many people would come to church at that time! Wow.

2 People crossed the line of faith and accepted Jesus yesterday! Whoooo. Whywedowhatwedo!!

– The attendance went something like this: 155, 165, 105. When we were promoting this I kept saying that we needed some ‘missionaries’ to go to the first service. I was wrong. It’s the 11:30 that needs the missionaries! By spreading out over 3 services we are opening up seats. You would only open up seats if you thought you that people will invite others and those seats will fill up. They will fill! It takes time. God is with us. ๐Ÿ™‚

LOVED the worship set yesterday!! LOVED ‘Freedom Reigns’.

“Home movies with PT” as I gave a little Israel slide show. Wish I could have said more but I think you were able to see how awesome it is. We’ll be going again!

– Easter series, “The Walking Dead” kicks off this Sunday!! Don’t wait for Easter Sunday to invite someone. Crosspoint, YOU are packed with potential!

– If you didn’t get a toque Sunday morning, they are available for sale at the Hello desk. $7.

Sunday Wrap!

21 02 2011

Hey Church! It was great to be back home with you yesterday. We had a fantastic time in the Dominican with Compassion Canada, seeing firsthand the difference they are making for Jesus. It was nice to be in the DR, and you know I love the heat, but there just isn’t any place like home and no other church like Crosspoint! Here is a look back at all things yesterday…

– We kicked off a brand new series, “Groundhog Day”, a four week overview of the Old Testament. When you read the OT, it can seem like the people just get stuck doing the same thing over and over much like the movie ‘Groundhog Day’. I intro’d the first 5 books of the OT, the Pentateuch. Our text was Genesis 22. Isaac gets set free and we start to see God’s grace shining through the OT.
– “Don’t let the parts of the OT that you don’t understand keep you from applying what you do understand.” “Unless you can give Him everything, you don’t have anything.” “Quick obedience in the right direction is always a good response to a test of God.”
– The worship was crazy awesome. Just seriously good. So good to be led into God’s presence and to hear people singing it out for Jesus!
– I am loving the new stage set/design. The lighting, live video, media, transitions, etc, all look so good. That is the result of good people working hard to offer our best to Jesus. You know who you are. Thank you!
– We had a Mark Brewer look alike. He was playing acoustic guitar. Nice.
– We had more salvations, more changed lives for Jesus!! Seriously. This is REVIVAL!!
Great crowd! Keep inviting people.

Set list/Artist/Album
“Our God Saves” Paul Baloche, Our God Saves
“Glorious” Paul Baloche, Glorious
“I Cling To The Cross” Paul Baloche, Our God Saves
“Amazing Grace” NewSpring Church
“Oh Lord You’re Beautiful” Jesus Culture, Consumed
“You Never Let Go” Matt Redman, Passion:Everything Glorious

Other Stuffs!
– 24 people showed up to the missions meeting last night!!!
– The ‘Crosspoint Hat Trick’ is coming, March 27!!! 3 services for 12 weeks or so. 8:30 (the best service) 10:00, and 11:30. Would you be willing to be inconvenienced in order for someone else to hear the gospel? How flexible are you for Jesus?

Praying for you all!
