Sunday Wrap!

24 10 2011

Heyyyyyyyyyy Crosspoint!! Welcome to “TEST DRIVE” week at Crosspoint! This is the week to invite everyone you know to visit your church! We need every person who calls this church their church to be here and bring someone with you. You never know, it could be an invite that changes someone’s life for eternity. It’s going to be a great Sunday, not too intense, and a lot of fun.

Here’s the wrap back on yesterday’s services @ CP:

– Yesterday was week 2 of our “Elements” series. The theme was ‘worship’ and understanding that worship isn’t a particular style or even the methods we use. Worship is drawing near to God and giving him the praise that He alone is worthy of.

– 1st service erupted when I mentioned doing a ‘Cowboy Sunday’sometime. Hmmmmm. I think we’re going to have to pursue that. Could be a lot of fun. Could be agony too. We’ll see. 😉

Loved the songs yesterday and hearing you sing out loud on our version of ‘How Great Thou Art’. Great energy at Crosspoint yesterday. “Sing My Love” is becoming one of my faves.

– Getting people into our Connect Groups is making a difference. I can see it. There are new relationships happening, people are connecting like never before, and it is strengthening our church. Love it!

– I used an app called ‘SketchPad’ to write on the main over head screen in real time. Pretty cool. No, we didn’t buy another iPad. 😉 Hopefully it was helpful for us to see the tabernacle from the Old Testament and understand how Jesus is now our High Priest who ushers us in to the Holy of Holies.

– Pastor Mark and Pastor Jamie are doing a fantastic job with the video announcements and the series videos. Lots of props and thanks too for all the work Brandon Ingraham and AJ Guptill have been doing around the church. The lights, media, and videos are all looking better than ever!!

– I’m still hearing great reports from the ladies event we had here on Friday night. Still hearing great things about the message by Liz Brewer. Way to go!

Sunday Wrap!!

18 10 2011

Happy Tuesday Crosspoint and welcome to another wrap up of another Sunday in our favorite church! Hope that your week is off to a great start. Brew up something yummy and take a few minutes to reflect on that God is doing in our church and in our lives.

– Sunday was week one of a brand new series for us titled, “Elements”. We’re going to be looking at the basic foundational elements of following Jesus. It was a great start to the series and I’m really excited about the potential of the next few weeks.

6 People decided to FOLLOW JESUS on Sunday!!!!!! (6 exclamation marks) They believe that Jesus really is the Risen Son of God and they are trusting God with their lives from this point forward. “Following Jesus isn’t a decision you make, it’s a lifestyle you choose.” So pumped for these new believers! 🙂 BTW – all 6 were in the 3rd service.

– Speaking of third service, we really need some happy missionaries to move out of the 10:00 service and start going to the 11:30. There are about a hundred in the 11:30 right now but the 10:00 is slammed. We need to free up seats for the 10 o’clock service. Great problems to have.

– Our theme Sunday was ‘The Church’. I did my best to help us see that the church is a movement based upon and built around one single event, the Resurrection of Jesus. The church is always moving. It is dynamic, alive, and full of new life.

– I love our church. Have I mentioned that lately? 🙂

– Great crowd, great atmosphere, excellent worship, etc, etc. We’re running about 100 people more than we were in Sept of 2010.

– We announced our upcoming friend day, “Test Drive Sunday”, October 30th! This is a super-easy way to invite everyone you know to come and kick our tires, take us for a one-service spin, with no obligation or strings attached. Now, what are we going to do if we break 600? Can’t shave my head. Leave a comment with your suggestion.

– Children, Youth, and Connect Groups are all growing. I am so thankful for the quality pastors and volunteers who lead these ministries!

– Don’t forget to get your tickets for the Missions Dinner, November 5th, with special guest H.C. Wilson.

– LADIES — “Collected”, this Friday evening, worship, message, coffee, treats, high-school age and up, starts at 7:30! Don’t miss it.

– Special thanks to Carolee Leblanc for her kind words to all of the pastoral team here at CP and for mentioning Pastor Appreciation. We appreciate the appreciation!

Set List/Artist/Album

“Hosanna” Paul Baloche, A Greater Song

TEST DRIVE SUNDAY

11 10 2011

Here is the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT I mentioned on this blog a week ago, Crosspoint is having an all-out, go crazy, have fun with it, invite-a-friend-day, Sunday, October 30th! And, this is one of the very few times in recent years that we are setting an attendance number that we would like to reach: 600!

We can do it!! You can do it! All you need to do is tell everyone you know that Crosspoint is having a ‘TEST DRIVE’ Sunday for anyone and everyone to kick our tires and take us for a spin with no strings attached, no fine print, no surprises.

We’ll be sharing more info over the next few weeks. In the mean time, start asking people if they would consider attending church with you on October 30th. That’s the big news. If it changes one life for eternity, it will be really big news!

Sunday Wrap Turkey Hangover Edition

11 10 2011

Good morning Crosspoiiiiiiiinnntttt!! Happy Tuesday. Hope you all had an excellent Thanksgiving, day off, and time to reflect on our many blessings. For those of you following from afar, Fredericton was enjoying the nicest weather in the history of October. It was gorgeous. Here is the look back at a fantastic Sunday.

– It was the 4th and final week of our ‘Modern Family’ series. This was a huge series for us in many ways. God has been using these weeks to encourage and strenghten our families, marriages and relationships. Most of us do more maintenance on our cars than our relationships. So good to see people just surrender to God and bring all of their relationships to Him!

Pastor Mark preached it up big time! Another excellent and well timed message. I think we all needed to be reminded that God can be trusted even when life doesn’t make sense, when things aren’t going the way I had planned or hoped. God is still God in the chaos and uncertainty.

– It was ‘Campaign Committment Day’ and also a special Thanksgiving offering to catch up from the summer slump. I don’t have totals yet, but I was very encouraged on Sunday and I am expecting great things. Stay tuned.

– Sunday was probably one of the strongest worship sets we have had here at CP. You were singing loud and bold and awesome. The room was full of energy!! Thanks Shea and Amanda for leading us with excellence. Thanks to Ruthie for being leading such a great team!

– Lovvvvved Nancy Pickells closing song! Very powerful. Thanks Nanc.

– Huge crowd Sunday. Huge.

– The services were so good and finished with such emotion that I didn’t make the announcement that I was going to make. Ooooooh, such intrigue. 🙂 We do have an announcement to make. Not sure if we’ll put it out on social media this week or wait till Sunday. Hmmmmm.

Set List/Artist/Album
“Sing My Love” Jesus Culture, Your Love Never Fails
“One Thing Remains” Bethel Live, Be Lifted High
“Like Incense/Sometimes By Step” Hillsong, A Beautiful Exchange

Vision and Sacrifice

6 10 2011

We are just 3 days away from another huge Sunday at Crosspoint. This Sunday we are asking our entire church family to give like they have never given before so that Crosspoint can continue to reach people who need the message of Jesus!

This is not just another offering. This is not just catching up from the summer slump. This is all about the vision that God has called us to. The vision belongs to all of us, this is our church, and we all need to share the burden and the passion for more changed lives!

I want you all to know how much we love and appreciate you. Seriously. You are an amazing church. This Sunday needs to be one of those defining Sundays that we all look back on with amazement at what God did. It needs to propel us forward. It needs to show us what we are capable of when we all put God’s agenda first. This Sunday should be incredible!

What can you do?
– Pray like crazy.
– Invite new people. Don’t worry about them being put-off by the offering. They will love the energy and the excitement of a church that is alive!
– Show up! Bad Sunday to go to the cottage and miss church.
– Give a sacrificial gift.
– Make a bold and risky pledge to our ‘Go for it’ campaign.
– Believe!

See you Sunday!!

3 10 2011

Crosspoinnnnnnnntttttt!! 🙂 Hope your week is off to a fantasmic start! We had a great day here yesterday in the ‘ville. Lots going on. Here is the wrap back on a great Sunday.

– It was week 3 of our ‘Modern Family’ series. Yesterday’s theme was parenting. If God has put a child in your hands, can you put them back in His? If he’s trusted you with a child can you trust Him with your child? The faith of a parent can make a difference in a child’s life. Mark 5:36

– Lots of people praying at the altars in each of the three services! Love it! Love seeing people come humbly before God and surrendering their all. Very powerful. Very moving.

– Thank you Pastor Mark for sharing an excellent word on tithing, giving, and why we give. (clap, clap, applause)

“All the Way My Saviour Leads Me” was the perfect song to end the service with!

Tons of new faces! Wowzers. Lots of people I don’t think I’ve ever seen before. If we could just get everyone there on the same Sunday… 😉

– Great to see so many people signing up for Connect Groups!

– Hugenormous Bigmongous “Thanksgiving Offering” this Sunday. Please pray about this. Please seriously consider the vision of Crosspoint and what God would want you to do. We had the same type of offering last Thanksgiving and we all gave $26,000. We still need to catch up on summer and pay stuff off. Let’s do it Crosspoint!! Let’s do something crazy for the glory of God.
– We have an exciting announcement to make this Sunday. Don’t miss it!!
– We will be re-committing to our ‘Go for it!’ campaign this Sunday!
